The Foundation of Development
The Little Saints program is specifically designed to meet the unique developmental needs of children under the age of six. We closely follow the US Soccer Grassroots Player Development Philosophy, which emphasizes that at these ages, the primary objective is to create a fun, safe, and engaging environment.
Children are still gathering the experience necessary to interact with their surroundings. Therefore, our focus is heavily weighted toward individual technical growth—ensuring every player spends maximum time with the ball at their feet.
Let Soccer Teach Soccer
This is the core philosophy of the Baytown Saints. We believe players learn best through the game itself. By utilizing small-sided 3v3 or 4v4 formats, we eliminate lines and lectures, allowing the game to naturally develop decision-making and technique.
Fun & Engagement
At U6, creating a passion for the sport is more important than tactical execution. Training sessions are designed to be active, competitive, and enjoyable experiences that keep players moving and smiling.
Maximum Touches
Following US Soccer mandates, we use small-sided games to ensure every player gets hundreds of touches on the ball per session. This repetition is crucial for establishing proper technique and confidence.

What to Expect
The Little Saints experience is a partnership between players, volunteer coaches, and parents. We define success not by wins or losses, but by the smiles on the field and the gradual mastery of fundamental concepts.
The U6 Matchday Environment
Games are played in-house on Mondays. Expect a fluid, slightly chaotic, and incredibly fun environment. Coaches are encouraged to be supportive, focusing on praising effort and individual success rather than constant interruption or strict positioning. Let them play, let them make mistakes, and let them learn to love the game.
