The fundamental mission of Baytown Saints Youth Soccer Club is to grow youth soccer in our area while providing access to high-level play at a true community cost. Our registration fees are strictly calculated to cover essential overhead—state and league fees, field maintenance, and equipment. Because we operate as a 100% volunteer, community-based club, the massive operational costs typical of competitive soccer are offset by the dedication of our community members.
The purpose of this case study is to objectively measure how our community-driven operational model performs against alternative models. By evaluating our historical data, we can provide parents with a transparent Return on Investment (ROI) compared to the most expensive mega-clubs in our region. Furthermore, this data validates that our grassroots recreational programming successfully provides the structural foundation required for a thriving competitive program.
A Note on Methodology & Respect
This analysis is strictly a self-evaluation and benchmark. It is not a criticism of other operational models. Corporate mega-clubs provide valuable services, and their fee structures reflect their specific overhead, staff salaries, and business models. This study is not an attempt to degrade our peers, but rather to answer a vital question for our own community: How does the Baytown Saints volunteer model measure up in the grand scheme of the STYSA Division II environment?
