Operations
Conserving 1.5 million gallons of water annually through strategic lake irrigation and intensive infrastructure maintenance.
The Lake Ramsey Initiative
The Baytown Saints Youth Soccer Club operates with a profound commitment to environmental stewardship. Rather than drawing heavily from the municipal water supply, our current 8 fields are exclusively irrigated using natural lake water sourced directly from the complex—a reservoir we proudly call Lake Ramsey.
Reclaiming the Infrastructure
This massive conservation effort was made possible when Commissioner Tom S. Ramsey, P.E. successfully recommissioned the complex's pump station, breathing life back into a critical piece of infrastructure that the previous administration had left idle for 15+ years.
Infrastructure & Maintenance
Sustainability requires relentless upkeep. Operating an independent, high-volume irrigation system across a multi-field complex demands precision, labor, and a strong partnership with local authorities.
(>600,000 Sq. Ft.)
The BSYSC Maintenance Team is entirely responsible for the daily health of this system. Our volunteers rapidly respond to field leaks, replace damaged irrigation heads, and continuously level the soil to ensure the safety of our players. Furthermore, BSYSC works in direct collaboration with Precinct 3 Maintenance to inspect, repair, and maintain the complex's 96 control valves, ensuring efficient water distribution year-round.
Water Usage Ledger
This ledger tracks our month-by-month irrigation volume. By utilizing Lake Ramsey, we are able to sustain all 8 soccer fields throughout the peak Texas heat while maintaining a net-zero draw on the city's municipal water supply.
*Data represents estimated monthly gallon usage required to maintain optimal field safety and grass health.
