  2. WHY DO I NEED TO PUT MY EMAIL ADDRESS WHEN I REGISTER?

    • YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS PROVIDES THE CLUB (AND COACHES) THE ABILITY TO KEEP IN COMMUNICATIONS WITH YOU THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

    • YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED OF CAMPSREGISTRATION DEADLINES, OR ANYTHING THAT CHANGES WITHIN THE BAYTOWN SAINTS YOUTH SOCCER ORGANIZATION.

    • YOUR EMAIL INFORMATION WILL BE KEPT PRIVATE AND SHALL ONLY BE USED FOR CLUB BUSINESS. 

  3. WHO WILL BE THE COACH OF MY TEAM?

    • ALL COACHES ARE VOLUNTEERS.

    • THEY ARE USUALLY A PARENT ON THE TEAM.

    • ALL BSYSC COACHES WHO HAVE BEEN COACHING FOR MORE THAN A YEAR WILL HAVE  A COACHING LICENSE FOR THEIR LEVEL OF PLAY.

  5. CAN I VOLUNTEER WITH BSYSC?

    • BECAUSE EVERY PERSON HAS DIFFERENT SKILL SETS, A VOLUNTEER CAN PERFORM JUST ONE OR TWO DUTIES WHICH CAN HELP THE ORGANIZATION GROW.

    • A COUPLE OF EXAMPLES of helping would be :

      •  HELPING WITH FIELD STRIPPING

      • HELPING DURING FIELD WORK DAYS

      • HELPING WITH COMPETITIVE TEAMS TRYOUTS

      • HELPING WITH TOURNAMENTS

    • YOU ARE EXPECTED TO BRING YOUR CHILDREN TO ALL PRACTICES AND GAMES ON TIME WITH ALL OF THE NEEDED EQUIPMENT.

    • parents are responsible for making sure their players have THE FOLLOWING FOR GAMES AND PRACTICES:

      • PLAYING UNIFORM IN GOOD CONDITION

      • adequate praCTICE ATTIRE (RED SHIRT, RED SHORTS, RED SOCKS)

      • ADEQUATE SOCCER SHOES AND SHINGUARDS

      • SIZABLE WATER JUG (NO DISPOSABLE WATER BOTTLES ARE ALLOWED IN THE COMPLEX. 

  8. WHAT DOES THE “U” STAND FOR IN THE AGE GROUPS?

    • THE “U” MEANS UNDER (U‐10 MEANS UNDER 10). WHAT LEVEL YOU WILL PLAY ON WILL DEPEND ON YOUR KIDS' BIRTH YEAR.

    • IRTH YEARS DETERMINES THE AGE GROUP YOUR PLAYER WILL BE ASSIGNED TO.
  9. WHAT DAYS WILL MY TEAM PRACTICE AND HOW MANY TIMES A WEEK?
    • MOST TEAMS WILL PRACTICE 1‐2 DAYS A WEEK, EITHER MON/WED OR TUE/THU.
    • THE PRACTICE SCHEDULE WILL DEPEND ON THE VOLUNTEER COACHS SCHEDULE AND PRACTICE FIELD AVAILABILITY.
  10. WHERE WILL GAMES BE PLAYED AND HOW MUCH PLAYING TIME WILL MY CHILD HAVE?
    • ALL U‐06 (4 AND 5 YEARS OLD) TEAMS ARE "IN‐HOUSE" TEAMS WILL PLAY ALL OF THEIR GAMES AT THE BAYTOWN SOCCER COMPLEX 9600 NORTH MAIN
    • GAMES SHALL BE PLAYED ON MONDAY EVENINGS STARTING AT 6:00 PM
    • THE U‐08 (6 AND 7 YEARS OLD) TEAMS WILL PLAY INTER-LEAGUE WITH EAST LAKE HOUSTON YOUTH SOCCER ASSN. (CROSBY) AND WILL MOST LIKELY PLAY IN BAYTOWN, CROSBY AND MAYBE DAYTON (TO BE DETERMINED).
    • ALL OLDER TEAMS (U‐09 AND UP) ARE CONSIDERED TRAVELING TEAMS.
    • TRAVELING TEAMS PLAY TEAMS OF THE SAME AGE FROM OTHER BAYSA (LOCAL ASSOCIATION) CLUBS.
    • THIS MEANS THAT HALF OF YOUR GAMES WILL BE PLAYED AT HOME AND THE OTHER HALF WILL BE PLAYED IN PLACES LIKE QUEST (DEER PARK – LA PORTE), PEARLAND, FRIENDSWOOD, CLEAR LAKE, TEXAS CITY, GALVESTON, MANVEL, NORTH CHANNEL, EAST LAKE AND ALVIN.
    • STYSA RULES STIPULATE THAT EACH PLAYER, REGARDLESS OF AGE, MUST PLAY AT LEAST FIFTY PERCENT (50%).
    • MOST PLAYERS GET MORE BECAUSE OF THE SIZE OF THE TEAM.
  11. WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED?
    • APPROPRIATE SIZE BALL (U5‐U8 = SIZE 3 BALL, U9‐U12 = SIZE 4, U13+ = SIZE 5),
  12. WHEN DO WE PLAY?
  13. HOW MANY GAMES WILL EACH TEAM PLAY?
    • THE SEASON WILL CONSIST OF BETWEEN 8‐10 GAMES DEPENDING ON THE AGE GROUPS.
    • U6 & U8 WILL PLAY AN 8 GAME SEASON WHILE U9 & UP PLAY 10 GAMES IN A SEASON.
  14. CAN MY CHILD PLAY-UP?
    • A CHILD CAN PLAYUP ONLY IF THEY ARE APPROVED BY THE BAYTOWN SAINTS YOUTH SOCCER CLUB BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
    • WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT A CHILD PLAY WITH THEIR OWN AGE GROUP.
    • A PARENT WOULD NEED TO FILL OUT THE PLAYUP REQUEST FORM AND SUBMIT TO THE BOARD FOR APPROVAL BEFORE TEAM FORMATIONS TAKE PLACE.

  15. CAN MY CHILD PLAY WITH HIS FRIEND OR NEIGHBOR?
    • THE BAYTOWN SAINTS FORMS ITS RECREATIONAL TEAMS BASED ON A BLIND DRAFT.
    • THE COMPETITIVE TEAMS IN OUR LEAGUE ARE FORMED BY COACHES EVALUATING PLAYER TALENT AT OUR CLUB TRY OUTS.
    • FROM THERE, THE COACH(ES) THEN SELECT THEIR TEAM BASED ON TALENT AND PLAYER AVAILABILITY. THAT BEING SAID, IF THERE IS ONLY ONE TEAM IN A DIVISION, THEN THAT REQUEST SHOULD BE HONORED.
    • HOWEVER, IF THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE TEAM IN A DIVISION THAT REQUEST MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE ACCOMMODATED.
  16. WHAT DO THE DIFFERENT DIVISIONS MEAN?
    1. DIVISION IV – ALL PLAYERS U10 AND UNDER PLAY D4. DIVISION IV IS ENTIRELY RECREATIONAL SOCCER.
    2. RECREATIONAL TEAMS “REDOR DIVISION III DO NOT REQUIRE TRYOUTS.
      1. “RED” soccer TEAMS PLAY MATCHES WITH OTHER CLUB TEAMS IN THE BAY AREA YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION (BAYSA) AND GENERALLY FOLLOW A FORMAT SIMILAR TO THE TEAMS THAT THE PAYERS WERE ON AS U10 AGE GROUP.
      2. PLAYERS DO NOT HAVE TO TRYOUT TO BE ON A REDTEAM.
    3. DIVISION II “BLUEIS A COMPETITIVE LEVEL OF SOCCER. DIVISION II SOCCER TEAMS COMPETE WITH OTHER CLUB TEAMS IN THE BAY AREA YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION (BAYSA) PROGRAM.
      1. PLAYERS MUST TRYOUT TO EARN A POSITION ON DIVISION II TEAMS. TRAINING IS A PART OF DIVISION II AND MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL FEES DEPENDING ON THE TEAM.
      2. TEAMS DO NOT HAVE TO QUALIFY TO PLAY IN THE BAYSA DIVISION II PROGRAM.
      3. PLAYING TIME (50% PER GAMEIS A BAYSA RULE.
  17. WHEN WILL A COACH CONTACT ME?
    1. COACHES USUALLY GET THEIR ROSTERS 2 TO 1 WEEK PRIOR TO THE FIRST GAME OF THE REGULAR SEASON. 
    2. PARENTS SHOULD BE EXPECTING PRACTICE SCHEDULING AROUND THAT TIME. 
  18. HOW DO I BECOME MORE INVOLVED WITH THE BAYTOWN SAINTS YOUTH SOCCER CLUB.
    1. THE BSYSC IS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS.
    2. YOU CAN EMAIL ANY BOARD MEMBER UNDER CONTACTS ON OUR WEB SITE AND THEY WILL GET YOU IN TOUCH WITH THE RIGHT PERSON.
